To provide the beneficiaries and community a qualified Counsellor through enrolling one of our volunteers who wishes to provide this vital requested as her vocation. We also want to deliver Beneficiary Workshops and our volunteers will undertake courses to understand our large remit of disorders.

Situation

Feedback from those who have accessed our services have indicated that if the charity could offer counselling, training and workshops as part of its portfolio of services it would by widely used and would be of great benefit when sufferers are most in need. In the last 12 months, 96% of people accessing our services felt the counselling service would be very beneficial to sufferers.

Solution

The pilot volunteers have just had their 12 month reviews which has indicated the positive impact that the opportunities have had on them personally and in respect of their illnesses all of which have lessened as a result of the opportunities we have provided eg: alternative therapies, consultant referrals, volunteering opportunities and a general feeling of well being and valued.
