Older people prefer to see the same person in their home even more so if dementia has started. Help at Home deliver a “regular” CRB checked staff worker, who can assist around their home with light cleaning duties, including washing, change of bedding etc, a shop and drop service, a handyperson service for practical assistance with odd jobs, inc painting/decorating, plumbing or electrical jobs and a home from hospital which enables older people to re-adjust in their home after a hospital stay.

By providing general housework tasks, cleaning duties and shopping trips ensure that the service user does not climb ladders, put themselves at risk of falling or injuring themselves either whilst shopping or within their own home, gives older people a sense of safety and independence. On visits, the key worker will keep a close eye and will contact the office who in return will contact the next of kin should they have any concerns about their health or well-being
