It costs about £1250 to support a family, using parent volunteers, to help them to get through the difficulties they are experiencing. Unfortunately there are many more referrals than we can cope with and we would love to develop our service provision in the South Charnwood area.

Situation
We currently support 120 families a year and would like to increase this to a minimum of 140 families a year. In order to do this we need to employ an additional member of staff to recruit, train and support extra volunteers, to interview referred families to identify their needs, match with suitable volunteers and supervise the service they provide. We are always overwhelmed with demand from very needy families and have to prioritise new referrals at all times. If we were to receive £100,000, we could increase our service for 4 years and therefore not need to turn away families that really need our support.
