We wanted to make more use of the youth buses that we had and following research into areas of deprivation for young people in Cambridgeshire we have started youth work sessions in four new venues across East Cambs and Fenland. However, we have still to cover all our costs fro the next two years.

Situation
Although Cambridgeshire is often considered an affluent area there are large pockets of depravity. In particular across East Cambs and Fenland among young people there are high levels of anti-social behaviour, misuse of substances and low achieving at or dropping out of school.
Solution
The project will provide weekly visits from our state-of-the-art youth bus with activities that will encourage young people to: - take part in positive activities - build positive relationships with youth workers and other young people - take on young volunteer roles - improve communication with other members of their community - receive information and advice to help inform risk taking behaviour - receive signposting to relevant specialist services
