Situation

Play is an integral part of any child’s development and at DEMAND we want to make sure that all children, whatever their physical or cognitive abilities have the opportunity to benefit from play. When you can run on a playground or ride your bike after school there are so many opportunities to be active but if your balance and coordination are still developing and you have outgrown toys for toddlers like ride on cars you need other ways to be physically active.

Solution

To continue research, development and manufacture of the Big Little Car's to help more families like the two we have already helped.

  • My son loves being outdoors and loves his ride on toys but at 6 years old he is obviously way too big for the ones that are available in stores. So his little legs drag along the floor. Having a ride on toy made suitable for him to enjoy and get about outside would be life changing

    — Parent of child who has Epilepsy and profound learning difficulties

  • his favourite toy was always his cosy coupe, when he was in it he was happier & would give more eye contact & smiles. A big little car will be calming for him when he is suffering from sensory overload. He will be able to move around in it independently. It is also very good exercise.

    — Mum of 6 year old son who has Autism, Global Developmental delay and Hyper mobility

  • When pupils get older & outgrow the learning toys it becomes more difficult to move around & keep the physical and mental well being up. You learn to move and you move to learn & its key for children to be able to improve their mobility and physical skills to access the curriculum fully
