Our Magic Wand wish is for core costs. This is an addendum, as it were, with a few more details - 500 words didn't give us enough room!

    Situation

Any project is only as good as the people who manage and run it. Without the enthusiasm, commitment, knowledge and expertise of its core staff, InterActive could not function. So, who are these invaluable people? Well, firstly the co-ordinator who, under the direction of the trustees, manages and supervises everything from staff and volunteers to training and risk assessments. Then the fundraiser / administrator, who has directories of grant making trusts as her bedtime reading and controls spending with a rod of iron. Then the three main project workers responsible for the hands-on running of all the projects - together with their teams of sessional workers and volunteers. And finally the admin assistant, not only responsible for day to day finance and office duties but also the back up and deputy to any of the other core staff when needed. This team costs us £97,426 annually. With on costs £109,117. They are worth every penny but these are not pennies it is easy to find. Like rent, insurance, accountancy, stationery, etc, salaries are not costs popular with funders, they are not exciting or attractive or emotive, and we fully understand that. But without core staff there would be no projects! So If anyone would like to wave a magic wand, £100,000 would ensure us staff security for a year - and we would like to be here for many more years to come! .
