Safe water is essential to life & important to health. The school has no water. Currently water is collected from intermittent rainfall or by bucket from a nearby stream. The stream when it is running is polluted by cattle & by villagers general use for washing & cleaning. Contaminated water causes waterborne & infectious diseases like Cholera & Hepatitis to anyone who may use it without sterilization treatment. It is difficult to teach hygiene to pupils without a satisfactory supply of water.

We will commission a qualified bore hole expert to carry out a geophysical investigation on or near the school site. When a suitable site is identified bore hole drilling will take place to include supply & installation of PVC casings & screens, a bore hole development pumping test, gravel packs etc. A water quality test will then be carried out & submitted. If the water test is satisfactory a Afridev hand pump will be fitted upon a concrete platform and installed ready for use by the school.
