    Situation

We are hoping to launch a hopper bus service to take people to our nearest hospital which is around 30 miles away. Since the demise of the Hospital Car service, which was funded by the NHS, patients in our rurally isolated area have found it increasingly difficult to get transport to hospital. We hope to start a minibus service which will pick up from two local medical centres, in Holsworthy and Torrington. It will be available to take patients and visitors to the hospital, meaning that they will only have to get to their nearest medical centre rather than 30+ miles to the hospital itself. We will need to buy or lease two wheelchair accessible minibuses to be able to take people in for morning or afternoon appointments and bring them back in relative comfort. We will also need to employ two full time drivers, and have relief drivers available for holiday/sick cover. We hope to launch the service sometime in 2008.
