People in rural areas, young and old, struggle to have the same access to top quality arts activities that their urban contemporaries enjoy. We want to welcome people who wouldn’t usually think theatre was something for them.

The arts offer people a way out of themselves, the chance to experience something new to believe in. Roots offers people access, experience and opportunities in top quality theatre making. We push people to excel themselves, to broaden their horizons, to fully engage with contemporary arts practice in a challenging supportive environment. Roots will include: writing and play making workshops for schools & young people, play readings for older people, and a large outdoor participatory show.
