    Situation

Santrokofi is a traditional town with over 100 children currently registered as orphaned or needy. Our partner charity has been assisting them with donations of clothes and books but can not finance a permanent home. Extended families can do little to help as they can barely afford to support their own children. Often these children end up being passed from relative to relative and having to farm for a living. They have little access to education and healthcare and no stability and security.

    Solution

We are financing a home that will house the 60 children in the greatest need. The home will provide them with a permanent place to live, access to clean water, washing facilities, reliable meals and access to and support with education. It will also be a place of support for single parent families, in terms of providing care before and after school allowing them to work whilst still keeping the child in school and living at home with them.
