Many young people in the Kingsmead area of Hackney face enormous barriers to success in their lives. The barriers may relate to poverty, family problems, lack of educational attainment or many other factors. Drugs, gangs, guns and knife crime are part of the fabric of many local young people's lives. Young people are often so weighed down in these circumstances that they cannot achieve their potential. We want to support them to achieve.

We will use activities designed to encourage individuals to achieve, through workshops, courses and accredited learning - for some young people their first 'certificate'. We will provide support on relevant training and education, CVs and form filling, interview skills etc, in groups or on a one to one basis. We will work with other local clubs and groups of young people to break down barriers between young people, enhancing their safety and supporting activities across those barriers.
