    Situation

Our Everyday Lives (OEL) International Media Programme aims to observe, celebrate and promote the uniqueness of everyday life. OEL TV– Our Everyday Lives TV is the first strand of this programme. OEL TV produces a current affairs style programme, where young people talk about issues that they care about. OEL TV seeks to encourage debate amongst young people and youth organisations and policy makers on the issues they present. It is designed, filmed and directed by young people OEL International Film Projects - The second strand of the OEL international media programme is the OEL International Film Projects. This project produces films and educational resources by young people living in areas of disadvantage all over the world. The aim of this project is offer another viewpoint on children’s lives, and provide a platform by which marginalised young people can represent their own lives, through their eyes. To date MTR Studio has produced films made by young people from the UK, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Kurdistan, Iran, India and Saudi Arabia. We are looking to expand this work and develop sustainable media projects in order to develop networks between these young people to share knowledge and experience. We have developed partnership with local projects/schools in each of the countries in order to sustain the work long term. Short to Medium term OEL fundraising goals: • Develop mobile media spaces with partners in Bahyria, Egypt and Bayed, Morocco. • Promote children rights work through film and media development in Bethlehem, Palestine. • Produce films on issues concerning young people globally, with a focus on Children’s Rights • Establish media training programmes and provide trained volunteers to work alongside the local community. Long term OEL fundraising goals: • Launch OEL TV Youth Channel - At present we are consulting young people and piloting online programmes for an international OEL Youth TV Channel that produces material that shares young people’s issues on an International level. • Produce films in other countries and develop sustainable media projects. ‘It would be great to do more of this type of work but it us impossible for us’ Salah 15 yrs, Morocco.
