Cornwall Wildlife Trust is working across the whole catchment to support businesses, homeowners, schools and farmers to protect rivers and seas from pollution. Rivers are home to wildlife like insect larvae, fish and otters. They also vitally important as wild 'corridors' where wildlife can safely.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust works on behalf of the Looe Bathing Water Quality Partnership, which aims to protect Looe‚Äôs bathing waters from pollution.
Farmers are taking steps to protect the river at the top of the catchment. Last year they completed 13 projects to reduce agricultural pollution in rivers. These included over 3000m of fencing to keep cows out of rivers, 3 farm wetlands to settle out sediment and create habitat and 2 areas of new woodland.
