    Situation

The Handy person scheme was set up to provide a service to those older people on limited income and less physically able. The aim is to enable older people to be able to live independently with dignity in their homes, and have help to undertake those small but necessary jobs which make living there easier. The scheme completes small DIY tyoe jobs around the home such as fitting grab rails, putting up smoke alarms, minor plumbing jobs, phone extensions for Lifeline/Aid Cal units etc. The scheme completes any and all such jobs free of charge to older people. The total cost of the project is approx £65,000. We have raised funds of £35,000 leaving £30,000 needed to run the project.
