A collaborative and interdisciplinary project on how the study of history through is practised through EU working languages, focussing on content and cultural processes, rather than processes or language outcomes. We are seeking input from universities, academics, associations, etc.
It ran from 12:00 AM, 1 January 2011 to 12:00 AM, 1 November 2011
Registered Charity in England and Wales (1123847)
A clear understanding of European history is at the heart of a vision of an integrated Union, where people are conscious and respectful of their differences yet understanding the lessons of history clearly and objectively.
Cultural and linguistic issues mask some of the more striking or controversial historical concepts. Using the unique angle of the medium of language to explore a specific historical perspective and how this is presented in various different cultures across Europe should open up a very rewarding discourse, benefiting educators and pupils alike.
