We currently fund a minibus from the local railway station to HMP Guys Marsh on Saturdays but would like to be able to afford to run the bus on Sundays as well.

    Situation

Often families travel huge distances to visit their loved ones. HMP Guys Marsh is in a rural location and is somewhat isolated in terms of transport links. Taxi is the only way to reach the prison from the station if the bus is not running, which is quite costly. Maintaining family links is crucial for eventual successful resettlement and we consider that the bus encourages visitors. The bus which we already pay for one day per week costs over £6,000 per annum and we would therefore like to raise the same sum to be able to fund the bus on Sundays.
