Situation
This project enables us to complete installation of our 100kW hydropower turbine, the site will go off-grid, and green energy will provide all the power needs for this fascinating industrial heritage site. Heron Corn Mill (Beetham) Ltd is a unique and valuable education and community resource, offering a community barn, with biomass heating for local use, a full programmeof events and activies for the public and speial porjects with disadvantaged groups. Heron Corn Mill is an 18 century worksing watermill, and offers tours and an education programme for all visitors year round. We want to achieve a sustaianble site, with full community access, creating a village space for the future, with low-cost facilities and socially-inclusive programme, and a model which can be repliated elsewhere.
