GOAL has been chosen by the Word Food Programme (United Nations) and USAID (US Government) to distribute substantial quantities of food and non-food items to a substantial number of the 1.5 million vulnerable inhabitants of Port-au-Prince. GOAL first responded to the relief effort in Haiti within 26 hours of the earthquake on 12th January, and intends to support 250,000 people over the coming months.
