In the aftermath of the massive earthquake which hit Haiti in January 2010, the humanitarian agency GOAL, has launched a public appeal to alleviate the suffering of some of the survivors

GOAL has been chosen by the Word Food Programme (United Nations) and USAID (US Government) to distribute substantial quantities of food and non-food items to a substantial number of the 1.5 million vulnerable inhabitants of Port-au-Prince. GOAL first responded to the relief effort in Haiti within 26 hours of the earthquake on 12th January, and intends to support 250,000 people over the coming months.
