Situation
To convert an existing ward in to 2 single rooms with ensuite. The strengths are: Infection control an advantage, privacy and dignity, age groups not sharing, confidentiality, open visiting, better medication management because medication cabinet can be in each room. Also for Palliative care, end of life, relatives who wish to stay and carry out nursing care can do so. Promotes independance, better patient choice for tv/radio, sleep patterns improved, better use of day room/ dining room for social interaction.
