Our original bedrooms were built in the 1950s and were shared rooms with separate bathing/toilet facilties in a corridor fornation. we have been able, through chartitable donations, to upgrade about 3/4 of the original bedrooms to separate, private individual rooms with shared ensiute toilet and washing rooms. The bedrooms and washrooms have full hoisting access as our children are profoundly disabled, with communication needs and some also have serious health conditions. To turn each of the old bedrooms into 2 single (plus the ensuite) costs £33,000 - we have 4 such rooms still needing upgrading along with improvements to the main infrastructure of the building and its environs. The students who got new rooms over the summer holiday were delighted with thier own personal space and the parents were very impressed. We hope people will consider the dignity of children with profound and complex disabilties an importsnt cause to support.
