The sinking of 10 wells and 2 boreholes in suitable locations chosen by local communities in a programme that is worked out with them and that they will take over on completion .Most villages in Teso lack a local clean water supply which means that people and especially children will suffer from water borne diseases and have to spend a long time and finding and transporting water .A hand dug well providing clean water in the heart of a village for 200 people costs £1200 and a borehole benefitting 1000 costs £6000 >the resulst are better health and stimulus to local income generation The wells are provided by a local agency and monitored on an annual basis by Teso Development Trust members
