Business Launchpad targets 'hard to engage' young people under the age of 25,offering an alternative to negative influences. The project works with young people in the community on housing estates, youth offending programmes, voluntary, community and faith groups, street corners/fast food shops, youth events etc.

    Situation

    The aim of the project is to steer young people away from detrimental peer pressures, raise entrepreneurial awareness, encourage entrepreneurial behaviour, empower and build confidence by engaging on a group and one to one basis and working in partnership with statutory and third sector organisations. The purpose of the programme is to help young people develop business ideas and skills through workshops, activities and discussion groups, evetually providing an funnel to WYEC's enterprise training, support and business incubation programme. The cost of the project for 2 business outreach workers, training material and event resources is £115k
