    Situation

Our Residential and activity centre is an old school situated in the Shropshire lake district, and is an ideal base for walking and bird watching. In wet weather, groups have to dry wet clothes on radiators in the main hall, which takes time and space. In addition, leaders with groups of our younger age girls sometimes need to wash and dry bedding for re-use the same night, but the nearest laundrette is five miles away, and necessitates an adult being away from the group for a couple of hours. We have a brick built out building that would make an excellent laundry/drying room, but lack the funds for the conversion and fitting with appliances. We need to insulate with insulated wall board to keep in the heat, but it already has a 13amp electricity circuit and lighting. A water supply needs to be brought from the main building, and drainage has to be installed and linked to the main system. We hope to equip the room with a large coin operated washing machine with separate coin operated tumble dryer, and to install drying racks with low background heating for wet weather gear. Costs Insulation £200 Water supply £500 Drainage £500 Coin operated washing machine £2000 Coin operated tumble dryer £1500
