HIV/Aids sufferers and their families or the families of HIV/Aids sufferers who have died are on the margins of society. They receive no help and are stygmatised by the disease or association with the disease. CAMEO-Aid wants to give them an opportunity to change this situation and to bring hope into their lives. Knitting machines cost £614 each approx (KSG70,000) and sewing machines cost £319 each approx (KSG36400)

A sufferer or their familiy will be given a machine on loan to enable them to produce garments. They will sell these garments for a profit. From the money earned they will replace the materials used and the surplus money is available to them to support their family or themselves. By earning profits they gain self esteeem and a helping hand on to the first rung of the ladder of self sustainability.
