Training is in literacy and life skills. Initial training is for 20 trainers, who then mobilise 20 community groups. The training material used is in the local language and created by the Ministry of Education and Gender. Successful groups have begun in four locations with demonstrable impact at household level. The programme can expand as funds allow it to do so. The training targets women but men also participate. Delivery of the progamme is indigenous but funded by Afrinspire. The programme takes a community through a three year cycle. The groups can continue to self-determine the development progress of members and sometimes Afrinspire supports other projects which are defined by the groups.
