The North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team

Can you help us get on the road?

We need to buy and equip a vehicle to act as a mobile control centre during incidents which can also transport Team members and equipment to search sites, with minimum impact on the environment.

We are currently running with only one vehicle; a newly purchased Land Rover (registered as an ambulance), as our back up vehicle is beyond repair, however this makes the logistics of search planning very difficult. The Team was established ove 30 years ago and is self supporting through fundraising and charitable donations; Team members are required to provide much of their own personal safety equipment. We are from a diverse range of backgrounds and are aged between 22 to 62 years. Our main focus is providing the police with a valuable service in the search and/or rescue of missing persons ranging from lost walkers, despondents and vulnerable people to specialist rescues for outdoor pursuit casualties. We occasionally offer safety/rescue cover to large events such as the Windy Gyle Fell race, The Kielder Challenge and various mountain bike races. Can you help us purchase and equip a new vehicle? Without a new vehicle our valued north east community service will be compromised. Therefore, we are approaching you as a local business to offer you the opportunity to contribute and give something back to your local community.
