Reasons: There is no equivalent service for young people with mild social communication difficulties. There is an increasing number of children in mainstream schools being identified as having mild social communication difficulties. Our project goal is to offer this segment of young people the possibility to access a social curriculum in cognitive ways, to explore their social skills in a safe and structured environment before venturing into the wider community with enhanced self esteem and a more robust set of social communication skills. Financial breakdown: We already have the financial and in-kind support to run the project for 15 sessions in 2009. We seek an additional £5000 to secure an additional 15 sessions ensuring the project runs once a fortnight till end 2009.
