    Situation

People from both our community and the public who suffer from mental health problems often have other financial problems that are indirectly linked to their health. This could either be debt or the inability to manage their own money. It is a commonly known fact that people in debt suffer from mental stress, a mentally healthy person would normally be able to handle this additional stress and either solve their own problem or competently find those that can solve it for them.

    Solution

Since unfortunately for the mentally ill, this can be an added mental burden on top of an already heavy load, CARA aims to work in partnership with mental health staff in London and the UK-wide in order to locate and help the most vulnerable and enable them to maximise their income through organising debt and in some cases clearing it, ensuring the correct benefits are being claimed and instruct them how to manage their finances in the future to prevent a reoccurance of the same fianncial issues
