£2,500 would fund one year's salary for a specialised community nurse at our health centre in Boamadumase, Ghana who could spend more time visiting the disparate communities where there are lots of children needing vaccinations, as well as postnatal followups, health insurance promotion, buruli ulcer surveillance, diabetes check-ups, high blood pressure monitoring, elderly care and stroke patient reviews, and to aid patients who cannot access the clinic due to disability, provide walking aids, post-operative patient reviews, tuberculosis follow up (some need daily injections) etc.
