South People's Projects-SoPPro

Wales'Africa Charity Shop

• The Charity shop will be set up for training Africans living in the UK to learn to volunteer and about holding our own fundraising, with the long term idea of giving time, money, resource for and with those in need (against the selfish attitude); to create and offer volunteering spaces for elders, youth, isolated people and for others, so that they could socialize, improve their English, integrate British culture and to share skills; • Benefit will support first asylum seekers and destitute persons to volunteer instead of spending times waiting at home and then to support the Refugee Council hardship for destitute asylum seekers and others activities and, last, to support other SoPPro activities and projects especially long term projects abroad to pay our office and Charity Shop rents.

Most of small African and charities setting up by African living in the UK are still continue to look for money for their projects. Very few are involved in their own fundraising. The Charity shop could become a good idea and a good place not only to learn how to volunteer and to be involved in fundraising, but it will also learn asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, people with very low income, to start learning "how to fish instead of waiting for fish to eat". The Charity Shop will become also a meeting space amd point between the communities and members so that they could learn from each others and also to socialise.
