Advocacy support to parents to enable families to have understanding of their needs to facilitate their journey through the acceptance process and enable them to make informed choices according to the needs of their child/children. Information to enable families to have an informed understanding of their children’s needs and to raise awareness with other professional/voluntary organisations. This is achieved by: *Regular Parent/Carers Support Groups *Providing assistance to individuals to secure appropriate benefits, helping to fill in the necessary forms and providing support at tribunals. *Home visits and support with consultants and specialist appointments. *Advice & guidance through the Special Educational Needs process. *To raise awareness of Contact’s services and to ensure close working links with partner agencies both statutory & voluntary.
