    Situation

The Academy of Ancient Music has built a reputation as one of the world's great orchestras on the back of the 250 recordings it has made since it was founded in 1973. In order to maintain this distinguished recording tradition under its brilliant new Music Director Richard Egarr, the orchestra needs to raise £10,000 for every new disc it produces. Egarr's first CD directing the orchestra - a recording of Handel's Concerti Grossi Op.3 - was selected as the best recording of baroque instrumental music released worldwide in 2007, and won the coveted Gramophone Award. The AAM plans to record JS Bach's complete Brandenburg Concertos on two CDs directed by its Gramophone Award-winning Music Director Richard Egarr. To record these discs, the orchestra is seeking to raise £20,000.
