Due to the volume of casualties we are starting to deal with at our Casualty Care Centre, we are in need of moving from a totally voluntary organisation to having a Casualty Care Unit Manager who would be responsible for working part time looking after the casualty care and managing the volunteers working at the unit. This role is currently being done voluntarily but time is limited due to the volunteer needing to work and earn money to survive.

    Situation

Our charity runs a Casualty Care Centre in the grounds of Horsebridge Veterinary Centre at Hailsham in East Sussex. It is funded entirely by donations. It is currently run by a volunteer who also as to work to earn a living. The charity is looking for funding to help provide this volunteer with part time employment to help ensure a better quality of care and more guarenteed coverage. We are looking at having two part time staff working at the unit. They would work approximately 28 hours a week each. With a Manager and Assistant Managers role. Both volunteer are experienced in care work and have been managing volunteers for some time. £8.00 a hour would be acceptable. Earning approximately £11,600 a year each. This would ensure better communication between the volunteers as well as better casualty care and management. As a result we expect better training of our volunteers, better response to call-outs and better advice to members of the public and a better service for members of the public who call our charity for help.
