The Salvation Army Haven Furniture Project in Portsmouth helps 150 homeless families a year with free basic furniture when they are rehoused after living in temporary bed and breakfast accomodation. The project also sells good quality secondhand furniture to the general public and this helps low income families in particular but also supports the wide ranging number of community services that the organisation provides in the City. In addition the project has a history of providing vital work placements for many long term unemployed individuals helping to build their skills, self esteem and confidence.

The project urgently needs to replace its current Furniture Van which after 8 years heavy use is nearing the end of its useful life. The Charity does not have the finance available for this major capital outlay and therefore needs your help to enable it to complete this important project.
