    Situation

Currently our Animal Centre only has accommodation for cats and dogs - this was purely because the project to build what is a new Centre cost so much that there wasn't enough to finish some sections and the Small Animals Unit was unfortunately one of the areas which we had to shelve. Whilst predominantly it is cats and dogs that we look to rehome, we also get lots of requests to take small furries in - because of the lack of accommodation we are only able to help a small proportion of these by placing them in foster homes, the others are redirected to other rescue centres so it would be nice to relieve some of the pressure from these organisations by having our own facility. We estimate that the building will cost in the region of £200,000 (we already have the foundations laid and services routed to the site) but this would make such a difference to our ability to help a much wider range of animals in the Sheffield area.
