We attract visitors from all parts of the UK but we know that would be able to expand and improve our training and education work if we could offer better residential accommodation and visitor facilites, especially for youth groups, schoolchildren, disadvantaged and special needs community groups.

    Situation

Our core training, education and community group work is currently restricted because we can only offer limited dormitory accommodation at present. This reduces the number of people participating in any one course or programme and the time they can stay with us. We need to modify and add to our existing buildings and visitor facilities to remedy this. Also, Denmark Farm’s 40 acre nature reserve and trail network, including wheelchair user access, is now an accredited 'Visit Wales’ quality assured visitor attraction. Improved residential visitor capacity would also provide much needed revenue for the Trust, reducing dependence on grant aid. We need £500,000 to upgrade for the long term. We have targeted State Aid regional funding initiatives, and our own supporters will contribute but we still require approximately 50% of this amount to be raised.
