In 2007/8 we are devoting all our efforts to increasing the Bursary Fund. The School's charitable purpose is to ensure that bursaries are always available to promising boys and girls. We believe that no deserving child should be denied the opportunity of a place for want of financial means, but we have three times more applicants than we can afford to help. Despite appearances, we are not a wealthy school and have no significant endowments. As an educational charity, our fee income is devoted to meeting our operational costs. As an independent school, we receive no assistance from the state. Despite that, we are proud to be rated England's best value-for-money large co-educational school in the Financial Times' 2007 survey of independent day schools.
