    Situation

Since 1999, the organisation has used this building (one of the first examples of poured concrete construction) as a venue for innovative art exhibitions. However, it is on English Heritage's Buildings at Risk register a decaying rapidly. In addition, the demand for our education work has outgrown the time and space available at the Cafe Gallery. This project seeks to restore the building to accommodate a greatly increased provision of art-led education projects and retain a programme of major art exhibitions to compliment the programme at the Cafe Gallery. Financial support is sought towards: Capital costs of restoring the roof and windows, fitting out, making the building fully accessible to all sections of the community together with the revenue costs for an Education Director to manage the education programme and fund-raise for specific projects.
