SignHealth helps Deaf people within the mental health system make their choice known in case reviews, planning meetings and Mental Health Tribunals. We also support those who have contact with social services and housing departments so that they can live more independently.

We provide one-to-one BSL support for Deaf people. Our advocates help to explain what is going on and support the person to assert their rights. For example, our advocacy services have supported some Deaf people when Social Services have wanted to take their children away. This can obviously be very upsetting and confusing as the child protection system can be very complicated.
