There is still a lack of quality theatre and dance provision for schools and families in the UK, particularly within the site-specific genre. Many key venues programme international artists to deliver their high profile family work, or rely on adaptations or musical versions of television programmes. In 2009 the Arts Council's Theatre Assessment Findings identified a principle concern as "a gap between early years and teens: a lack of work for 7 to 12 year olds".

We will continue to develop our site-specific work internationally, but it has become increasingly important for the company to have a more visible UK presence. Maintaining the integrity of the work and the high production standards is part of what will make Paradise unique and will raise the bar for this work in the UK. There is evidence from venues, audiences and Arts Council of a demand and a growing audience for this work amongst schools and families. Paradise will be created for ages 8+
