    Situation

Village by Village is looking to start a scheme where we recruit and challenge successful British business leaders to improve the living standards in a remote Ghanaian farming community. The entrepreneurs will need to use their business skills to tackle the seemingly hopeless issue of poverty by working together to assist people in the village. To help get their ideas off the ground, each entrepreneur will have donated £10,000 to a joint fund. They'll be exchanging five-star lifestyles for three weeks living in a makeshift camp without running water or electricity. As an international development charity we want to discover what lessons can be learnt from giving a group of successful business people the opportunity to try and tackle some of the problems of poverty. But we need core funding to get the project up and running and aim to be completely self funding within 6 months. Village by Village http://www.villagebyvillage.org.uk is a highly cost effective kitchen table charity, run by professionals, based in the UK working in Africa. Village by Village gets the greatest impact by working in partnership with people living in poverty in Ghana, West Africa. Village by Village builds wells, improves schooling, eyecare, trade links and sanitation.
