    Situation

Crime and anti-social behaviour resulting from drug and alcohol addiction is a widespread concern, destroying lives and impacting negatively on the whole community. An estimated £13b is spent annually as a result of problem drug use. A third to half of all acquisitive crime is committed to fund an addiction and alcohol is a factor in approximately half of all violent crimes. The grip of addiction is powerful and professional help is needed to guide people out of this destructive maze.

    Solution

The Bridges is RAPt’s residential drug and alcohol treatment centre for men with a history of criminal behaviour. Based in Hull, it works exclusively with this client group in collaboration with the probation service. The focus is on successful resettlement and abstinence covering an intensive treatment programme delivered through workshops, group therapy and one to one counselling. The goal is to equip all residents with the skills needed to build and sustain a drug and crime free life.
