Location

Situation

Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop has a wonderful new facility and because of the quality of the spaces and the facilities on offer there is huge demand for learning activities from local schools and the surrounding community which at present we do not have the resources to accommodate. ESW also wants to establish long-term connections to our local community to encourage a diverse audience and promote open debate and discussion about contemporary arts practice

Solution

ESW's education and engagement programme will offer education participants (individuals, groups, schools) a holistic view of contemporary sculpture - from learning about studio practice through studio visits, to meeting and working with artists in residence, to learning practical skills in the workshops . ESW offers long-term programmes and projects which allow a greater depth of engagement with sculptural processes. Artist projects designed to promote engagement will target diverse audiences.
