CHICKS provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children. A CHICKS break allows them to make precious childhood memories, have fun and make friends. With the opening of our third retreat, we need a new minibus to make more breaks possible.

Situation
A CHICKS break supports children that are disadvantaged in some way. The reasons children attend a CHICKS break are varied - they could be living in poverty, be young carers or are victims of or witnesses to abuse. Our breaks allow children the chance to make happy childhood memories, have fun with new friends and experience a break from their home lives. Unfortunately, demand for our services continues to grow and we currently have to turn children away.
Solution
CHICKS breaks allow children to be children again, giving them much needed respite from troubles at home and the chance to experience childhood activities that many people take for granted. Our newest retreat in Derbyshire will allow us to help hundreds more children each year, and make it easier for children in the North of the UK to attend. Minibuses are crucial equipment for us, allowing us to pick up the children and take them out on exciting adventures!
