Developing new therapeutic services to reach young people and their parents who are in need of advice and guidance, but who do not know of what we have to offer or who do not think they have a significant problem that can be helped. We want to encourage more young people to accept professional help by making our services local and easy to access, whether it is regarding mental health, education, relationship problems, drug use or other delinquent behaviour.

    Situation

We are a small charity that has developed an excellent reputation for providing confidential psychotherapy and counselling to young people over the last 30 years. We are trying to find ways to reach more young people and their parents who do not have access to help and advice growing up in a multi-cultural inner-city environment. We have needed to limit our services to smaller geographical areas due to funding cuts and restrictions but we know we can offer a wider service to young people who are facing critical challenges in their lives and need to have a trained professional to help them make the best decision for themselves. We have a lot of experience of talking to and listening to young people from all cultures and backgrounds. We know how important it is for them to be able to discuss their problems and choices with a responsible adult who can talk with them in confidence and advise them without prejudice. We would like to establish new locations to offer our services.
