Cromer Windmill needs urgent exterior restoration and conservation work. Cromer Windmill, listed Grade II*, is the last surviving windmill in Hertfordshire. The mill site dates from the 12th century and its historic importance is due to its unique sail configuration and extensive 19th century ironwork which represents the final development of mill machinery.
