The service would provide information and advice to older people of the City on a wide range of issues. These would include:- Welfare Benefits (attendance allowance, housing and council tax benefit, disability living allowance, pensions and pension credits) Finance (Tax issues, loans, grants and wills) Community Care (Residential and nursing care, home care and fees and charges) Practical help in the home (home help, gardening, laundry etc) Home safety (Registered traders, bogus callers, door step crime) Access to local services and activities for older people eg Age Concern Park Street 50+ Activity Centre. Opportunities for Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering. Transport (local, disability and hospital transport) Housing (Tenancy issues, neighbour disputes and supported housing) The service would be delivered by a paid Project Leader working with a team of volunteers at each delivery point. There are over 25000 people in Lincoln over the age of 50 and great demand is anticipated for this service. We are seeking a grant of £30000 pa for two years to run the initial project.
