We currently run a youth club twice a week and an annual summer activity scheme from our base, the Westbury Centre. However, we would like develop the venue into an open access drop in centre for young people. It would be opened in the day time for young people who have been excluded from school, and from 4-6pm as an after school club, serving snacks and running activities. Young people would be able to use the internet for homework purposes, and qualified youth workers and counsellors would be on hand to offer support to the young people. We would also offer short courses and volunteering opportunities to build up young people’s self-esteem, self -confidence and skills.
