    Situation

Through the delivery of these workshops we will develop pupil’s communication, thinking, numeric, and investigatory skills. The cultural awareness element will lead to a greater understanding and interest in other cultures. These courses will also improve the knowledge of different materials, their uses and the tools required to work them. Funding will be required for :- 1 part time post to develop and manage the project Project Manager part time - 20 hrs per week – Facilitators fees Material costs Establishment and overhead costs of the project This funding will enable a minimum of 64 half day sessions with children in 4 primary schools over the course of one year. There will be an average of 30 children in each session. Following discussions with head teachers locally, the workshops above were felt likely to be of the most benefit. Teachers will be able to select the most appropriate for the needs of their children. The budget includes an element for the required volunteer time that will be contributed by SPAN Trustees and other Members.
