Prom Praise for Schools.

An exciting and creative event at the Royal Albert Hall in London, for London schoolchildren giving them a taste of a live orchestra, a great venue and a Christian ethos. Further funding would allow it to expand to other venues around the UK.

The PP4S project aims to provide an unique musical experience for London school children, address a number of challenges in the present education system. Firstly, many schools are unable to employ a music specialist so opportunities are restricted. Also, even with a music specialist in school, many non-musical London children never get the opportunity to experience a live orchestral event or even a visit to a significant cultural venue in their city. We feel these are serious omissions.

PP4S is more than just one event. Each school signing up to the project is sent a resource pack to help them prepare with lesson plans and songs to learn so that the children can be familiar with them and feel able to participate fully. These materials are designed to be usable by non-specialist teachers. Schools also receive a visit from live orchestra musicians before the event. Finally they attend an outstandingly creative evening in the Royal Albert Hall.
